You Can Now Rent a Professional Baseball Stadium on Airbnb

What would you do if you were granted full access to a professional baseball stadium?

Would you test out your ability to hit a home run? What about throwing the ultimate bachelor party, and hitting balls with your friends in the batting cage? Or, you could just eat a picnic of nachos and hot dogs in the outfield.

Does this sound like your real-life field of dreams? I’m here to tell you that it could be reality.

This Minor League Baseball Team is Renting Out Their Stadium on Airbnb

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos, a minor league baseball team in Florida, has put its stadium to good use amid a delayed season. They have listed their oceanfront baseball stadium on Airbnb, giving fans “the most intimate, behind-the-scenes ballpark experience in history.”

Yes, that’s right. If you’re a fan of baseball, I hope you’ve got some extra cash lying around. Your sports dream is available for $1,500 per night.

It sounds like a hefty price, but they’re pitching this accommodation as “the ultimate baseball experience” — and an experience like this doesn’t come cheap.

According to the official Airbnb listing, guests will have access to the entire baseball field, with a full batting practice setup included. Guests will also have entry to the batting tunnel, “allowing them to hit just like the players do.”

You don’t even need to bring your own gear: “bats, balls, and helmets will be provided.”

On top of that, guests staying at the ballpark will also have full access to the “newly-renovated and fully-furnished clubhouse.”

The listing states that the clubhouse “includes four leather couches, two flat screen TVs, a ping pong table, padded chairs, and two large tables.” Who wouldn’t want to kick back in there after a long day of knocking it out of the park?

A Blue Wahoos representative will be on hand to give guests a full tour on arrival, and staff will be around to provide security and answer questions.

But What About All That Ballpark Food?

There is a kitchenette available for use by guests, attached to the bedroom. In it, you’ll have access to a fridge, a freezer, a coffee maker, and a microwave.

However, if you’re really looking for the ultimate baseball experience, we get it. If you can’t live without a classic ballpark dog, it’ll cost a little more.

“Add ons to your experience including food and beverage packages, merchandise, and additional experiences are available for an additional charge,” the Airbnb listing says.

“Whether you’d like to host an unforgettable overnight trip with your youth league team, throw an unbeatable birthday bash, stage a corporate retreat that will make you an office hero, or spend your bachelor party living your sports dream, Blue Wahoos Stadium is the ultimate rental.”

The only catch is that the $1,500 per-night stays can only accommodate up to 10 guests.

The team states that this is the first time that a professional baseball stadium has been made available to rent on Airbnb, and I’m inclined to believe it. When’s the last time you saw something like this?

As of right now, it looks like all the available dates have been booked.

Even so, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Facebook page states that they are waiting to hear more about the season before opening up more dates.

“We’re remaining in constant communication with the Southern League and Minor League Baseball,” a rep for the team said. “When we know more, we’ll open more available Airbnb dates between July-October.”
