Succulents are seriously on-trend right now, and they’ve been popular for a while – these hearty little plants might actually stick around for quite some time. If you’re thinking about sprucing up your garden, giving your lawn a face lift, and adding some succulents into your life, I recommend nothing more!
A little known fact about succulents is that they can grow from any part of themselves. You have a leaf? Well, you’ve got a full-fledged succulent plant just waiting. Clip a cutting and expose the stem, then plop it in soil. Pack the soil around the stem until it won’t fall over itself – you might have to trim the cutting to expose the stem, depending on the type of succulent – and put your pot in the right spot.
The ideal location is an area with bright, indirect sun. You don’t want to dry out the cutting before the roots have a chance to take, so not full, outdoor sun. Good airflow is important to discourage bugs.
And that’s it! Hit up your succulent-loving friends for some cuttings to get started, and happy gardening!
